Sept 17th, 2021 - Lynn Bohs & Ellen Dean

Next SolSeminar will be presented by Lynn Bohs & Ellen Dean on Diversity in the genus Lycianthes (Solanaceae) in Mexico and Central America

Abstract. Lycianthes, the third most species-rich genus in the Solanaceae, is distributed in both the New and Old Worlds and is especially diverse in Mexico. Here we present our work on the Mexican and Central American taxa, including a discussion of the most current phylogeny for the genus and variation in morphological characters such as habit, trichomes, leaves, flowers, fruits, and seeds. A brief introduction to the groups/clades of New World taxa will also be given.
